Kitty Bonde grew up with a crafty, talented mother in Hamburg, Germany until she was 9 years old, then emigrated to the Chicago area with her family. Originally named Found Fibers, Kitty formed her own craft business in Madison, Wisconsin in 2016 after facing health challenges that were best healed by doing art. Found Fibers focused on upcycling fibers, from wool to cotton, into unique wearable creations such as dresses, skirts, bags, and hats. As the creative energy blossomed, Kitty began to work with copper and gemstones, making jewelry, dangles, and garden art. Since moving to South Park Valley in Colorado in 2017, the business has been reborn as Alpine Violet, with a continued focus on using found materials to create wearable and decorative art inspired by nature.
